Travelers who pack running shoes now have two more practical bases in Busan. New runner support spaces at APEC Naru Park and Geumnyeonsan Station are designed around the Suyeong River, Gwangalli waterfront and mountain-running routes, but operating hours and locker rules should be checked before relying on them.

Two bases for different running styles

The APEC Naru Park location supports riverside running around the Suyeong River and its pedestrian bridges. The Geumnyeonsan Station facility is positioned for access to Gwangalli Beach runs and routes toward Geumnyeonsan.

Busan says the spaces provide conveniences such as changing areas and storage lockers. The announcement does not specify foreign-language instructions, locker availability, shower access or daily opening hours, so those details should not be assumed.

Do not confuse facilities with events

The support spaces are infrastructure, not registration for the city’s running programs. A special run is planned near Samik Beach Waterfront Park on October 23, while a running festival is scheduled for November 14 at North Port Waterfront Park; participation conditions require separate confirmation.

Travelers planning an independent run should map the route and return point in advance, carry identification and avoid leaving valuables unless the locker rules and security process are clear.

Choose the more practical location

APEC Naru Park works well for a flatter riverside outing, while Geumnyeonsan Station is the logical starting point for Gwangalli or hillier terrain. Weather, darkness and road crossings can materially change the experience, so keep the first run conservative.

Before you go

  • Check current opening hours and locker-use rules.
  • Confirm whether changing facilities are operating when you arrive.
  • Map an out-and-back route suitable for daylight and weather.
  • Register separately for any organized running event.
