Gyeongju Dog Festival 2026: a free weekend for owners and curious visitors
A visitor-focused guide to Gyeongju’s two-day dog festival, including programme differences, the venue and what the free entry does not include.

Gyeongju’s 2026 dog festival runs on October 17 and 18 at Querencia in The-K Hotel Gyeongju. The city says anyone may attend for free, whether or not they own a dog, but the two days have different activities and participation details should be checked before bringing a pet.
Choose the day by programme
Saturday’s programme includes a pet-knowledge quiz, a mini agility course and a lecture about canine life stages by veterinarian Lee Se-won. Around ten activity and information booths are also planned, alongside programmes introducing the native Gyeongju Donggyeong dog.
Sunday is more participation-focused
Sunday is scheduled to include dog running, agility and talent activities, followed by a lecture on animal behaviour by veterinarian Chae Min-gyeong. The city also lists a Donggyeong dog drawing contest for kindergarten and elementary-school children, meeting opportunities and a photo zone.
Free general entry does not automatically confirm a place in a contest, class or pet activity. Check onsite registration, capacity, vaccination or leash rules with the organiser before arriving with an animal.
Keep festival entry and tours separate
Querencia at The-K Hotel Gyeongju is the event venue. Confirm the exact entrance and parking or public-transport plan, especially if the hotel is not your accommodation.
The heritage experiences linked below are independent bookings with their own meeting points, inclusions and prices. They do not include festival activities, pet care, transport to the hotel or permission to bring a dog.
Before you go
- Choose October 17 or 18 based on the activities you want.
- Confirm pet-entry, leash, vaccination and activity-registration rules with the organiser.
