Hangang Festival Autumn 2026: pick one programme and the right river park

The October 14 city roundup highlights October 17–25 river events. Choose the programme first, then the park, registration and journey home.

“A festival on the Han River” is not a useful meeting point on its own. The river spans very different neighbourhoods, and the autumn programme spreads activities across several parks. A better plan starts with the activity you want, followed by its precise location and reservation rules.

Use the remaining dates, not every item in the roundup

The city’s October 14 roundup lists Hangang Festival Autumn for October 17–25. Jamwon programmes on October 17–18 include exercise and simple-meal activities requiring advance reservations, plus free on-site viewing of a musical gala. Gangseo’s forest-adventure programme is listed for October 24–25, and a street-food cooking competition at Ttukseom for October 23–25.

The same roundup also mentions October 9–11 and October 10 events that have already ended. A recent publication date does not make every item in it upcoming. Check the date beside your chosen programme rather than assuming an identical schedule runs throughout festival week.

Choose the park before planning another stop

Save the exact programme name and gathering area, not just the nearest large river-park label. If you are combining the visit with another reservation, check the travel route between the two actual meeting points. Different river parks should not be treated as adjacent stops.

Festival-wide English support, every activity fee and live remaining capacity are unconfirmed here. Reserve only through the organiser’s current instructions, and keep a weather-flexible alternative. Free viewing of one gala should not be mistaken for free participation in every activity.

Separate the festival from a river cruise

An organised cruise or picnic experience can be a different way to enjoy the river, especially when you want a defined meeting point and duration. It is not transport between all festival venues. Decide whether the event or the cruise is the main part of your day before committing to both.

Compare the departure pier, return location and inclusions on the linked options. A river-themed booking does not automatically include festival registration or guarantee a view of a performance. Leaving enough time for the return journey is more useful than trying to collect every riverside activity.

Before you go

  • Match the programme to its exact park, date and meeting area.
  • Check whether registration, fees or weather changes apply to that activity.
  • Keep cruise and festival bookings separate, with time for the return trip.
