Which DMZ tour? The tunnel, suspension bridge and Monday route

Choose the route before comparing prices. See how the standard DMZ trip, Gamaksan add-on and Monday Aegibong itinerary differ.

Updated Oct 2, 2026

Start with the place you most want to see. A tunnel-and-observatory day, a bridge extension and a Monday border-viewing trip can all appear under a DMZ heading, but they are different days out. The Civitatis Monday option visits Aegibong and leaves out the infiltration tunnel. If the tunnel is your main reason for going, choose the itinerary first and then find a suitable date.

History first

Look for the standard tunnel and Dora Observatory itinerary.

Add an outdoor stop

Choose the named Gamaksan bridge option and its own departure time.

Only Monday is free

Consider the Aegibong surroundings route for border views, without the tunnel.

Read the stop names, not just the tour title

Choose a must-see stop, then compare the route, guide language and meeting point. Cheorwon and Paju are different destinations. The Civitatis trips below use English guides. For Japanese or Chinese, see the GetYourGuide alternative run by I LOVE SEOUL TOUR and choose the corresponding meeting-point option.

Leave room around your departure

Save the station exit and route from your hotel the evening before. Put your passport with the things you will take, and keep the evening flexible rather than booking a tight connection straight after the tour. Access arrangements can change, so the operator's final message is the useful one to keep handy.

A bridge photo is only part of the day

A scenic extension is appealing if you enjoy a longer day outdoors. For a first visit focused on the history, the core route may be the better use of your time. Compare what each option adds to your day, rather than treating the longest itinerary as automatically the best value.

A few things worth knowing

Does this include the JSA?

The linked standard listing does not include the JSA. Choose a separately confirmed JSA itinerary if that is your goal.

Are all Monday DMZ tours the same?

No. This guide describes the linked seller's Aegibong option. Other operators may offer different places; compare their stop lists.

DMZ visits from Seoul: check the route

Compare the standard DMZ, suspension-bridge and surrounding-area options on this listing. The Monday alternative does not include the infiltration tunnel. Bring the required passport and confirm which route operates on your date. Departure and return points vary by option; a DMZ visit is not the same as a JSA visit.
