A cable-car ticket pays for the journey up Namsan; an observatory ticket pays for entry into the tower’s viewing deck. Decide whether you want one or both before comparing prices. Some combined offers require ticket collection elsewhere in Myeongdong, so check the pickup point before heading uphill.

Enjoy the ride
Choose one-way or return travel; add the observatory only if you want it.
Visit the observatory
Plan your uphill transport separately from the admission ticket.
Book both together
Check the exact inclusions and ticket exchange address before choosing.
Start with the evening you want
There are two pleasures here: rising over the hillside in a cable car, and looking across the city from the observatory. You might want both, or prefer to spend more of the evening walking and having dinner. Decide that first. A long list of ticket offers becomes easier to read when you know whether you are buying transport, admission or a combination.
Use separate fares as your starting point
At the reviewed official fares, adult observatory admission is KRW 29,000 and an adult return cable-car ticket is KRW 15,000: KRW 44,000 together before meals or other transport. That is a planning example using separate tickets, not a package price. Compare a reseller’s final total against the same inclusions. For children, use each operator’s age bands rather than applying one adult discount to everything.
Collect a combined ticket before going uphill
The reviewed Civitatis option with a return cable car requires collection at a separate location; its listing gives exchange hours of 10:00–18:00. The cable car’s later operating hours do not extend that pickup window. Save the exchange address from your booking confirmation alongside the cable-car station, then visit the pickup point first. Read the instructions for your selected option because observatory-only tickets can follow a different route.
Map order: ticket pickup → lower cable-car station → your chosen attraction.
Allow room for the journey, not just the ride
The lower cable-car station is at 83 Sopa-ro. Leave room in your plan for reaching the station, waiting, and walking after the ride. If dinner or a show follows, work backwards from that fixed reservation. For sunset, arrive in the area ahead of the time you want to be looking at the view; a ticket is not a promise of an empty queue. The official tower page gives last observatory entry as 30 minutes before closing.
A Myeongdong-to-Namsan evening
A relaxed route is Myeongdong shopping → any required ticket collection → an early meal → Namsan. On the way back, keep the final stop close to your hotel rather than adding another cross-city journey. If the forecast looks poor, compare cancellation terms before buying and keep an indoor evening in mind. NANTA can be a different-night plan when a fixed show time would make the mountain visit rushed.
A few things worth knowing
Does a cable-car ticket include the observatory?
They are separate services. Choose a combination only when its inclusions explicitly list both.
Can I pick up a package ticket after dinner?
Use the collection deadline on your selected booking. Exchange counters can close before the attraction does.
