Jeju without a car: pick a base, then plan one good day
Jeju City or Seogwipo? Compare pickup points, a private driver and a guided day out.

You can enjoy Jeju without driving, but your hotel becomes part of the transport plan. A convenient pickup can mean a relaxed breakfast; a departure on the other side of the island can mean a very early start. Pick the area you want to spend time in, then match the tour to where you’re staying.
Compare the door-to-door day, not just the tour’s headline price. Jeju City and Seogwipo are different starting points; a pickup label does not confirm that your hotel is covered.
Public buses
Best when you can keep fewer stops and adapt to actual connections.
A shared tour
Useful when the published route and confirmed meeting point fit your base.
A private vehicle
Consider it for a tailored pace; confirm hours, stops and all extra charges.
Build the day around what matters
- 01
Start with your address
Write down the exact hotel and intended finish point. Ask a tour operator to confirm pickup for that address and date. A meeting point in another city can turn a convenient-looking tour into an early transfer problem.
- 02
Choose one part of the island
For an eastern day, build around the Seongsan area rather than adding distant southern stops. For a southern day, start with the Seogwipo area. These are planning suggestions, not promises about what any tour visits. Check each product’s exact route.
- 03
Price and time the way home
Put the final drop-off beside your hotel or airport journey. For buses, check current services rather than relying on an old tourism map. For tours, ask whether the return point differs from pickup and leave a buffer before an onward flight.

The details that make it easier
Keep unknown costs visible
Separate the tour, meeting-point transport, meals and excluded admissions. Leave unknown amounts blank until confirmed; a blank is not a zero.
Use a weather fallback
Keep one indoor or rest option near your base. If coastal conditions worsen, check operator notices before travelling rather than assuming every activity continues.
Travelling solo or with friends?
Solo travellers may prefer a shared tour when the meeting point works. With friends, a private driver gives you a route to discuss together. Compare the vehicle total with the per-person bus price, then add any meals and entry fees that are excluded.
A beach lesson doesn’t need a packed day around it
If surfing is your main plan, leave room for finding the shop, changing and getting back to your hotel. Read recent comments about instruction language, then ask the provider if you need detailed explanations in English.
Make this plan yours
Your checks stay on this browser, including when you change language.
Before you go
Is an island-wide listing proof of hotel pickup?
No. Confirm the exact address, option and date with the operator.
Should I cover east and south in one day?
Choose that only after checking the actual travel and visiting time. A focused route usually leaves more room to enjoy each stop.
